Clothes are a central part to one’s being and I’ve been brought up to treasure them.
I design in a way that honours that belief.
Born and brought up in Belfast, Tarika Kinney relies heavily on her Irish and Indian heritage for inspiration. A recent graduate from the Glasgow School of Art and the Paris College of Art, her work explores the emotional connection between garment and wearer. Deeply rooted in storytelling, craftsmanship, her practice explores the intimacy of clothing as a second skin—imperfect, evolving, and rich with memory. Blending delicate femininity with raw, deconstructed techniques, she creates pieces that honour both tradition and individuality.
Grounded in community, collaboration, and care, she sees clothing as a living archive, moulded by time, touch, and the people who wear it.
